Custom Dynamo Scripts

Dynamo is an open-source visual programming platform for designers. It is installed as part of Revit along with Revit-specific programming nodes. It is essentially its own programming language that is relatively easy to learn, compared to more traditional programming languages like C#, Python, etc. This allows architects and engineers to quickly create programs to interact with their BIM models.

The use of Dynamo in the AEC space provides two main benefits: It enables Parametric Architecture and can automate tedious tasks.

Parametric Architecture (or Parametric Design) is a design method where features (such as building elements and engineering components) are shaped according to algorithmic processes, in contrast to being designed directly. This enables designers to quickly cycle through computer-generated iterations of a design, and pick the one they like best.
